Denon DVD-2900 LFE signal

I'm going to throw this to you guys first 'cause those guys over at AVS forum kind of intimidate me

I am using my Denon DVD-2900 as the decoder and running RCA's into my Yamaha using the "6.1" inputs.  I have a large set of front speakers and therefore don't plan on using a subwoofer.

So I went into the setup for the Denon and told it 'no sub'.  I kinda figured that if I tell it I'm not using a sub, it'll route the LFE info to my front speakers (setup as "Large").

For two reasons I suspect that its not sending the LFE info to the front channels.  First the little 'LFE' graphic on the front display is on.  I'd expect it to only show the channels I've told it I want to run.  Second, the bass doesn't seem that great.  Reason I think this is... when I was playing Star Wars Phantom Menace it sounded pretty good running the 5.1 DD track (thinking its mixing the .1 into the fronts).  However, when I used the "audio" button on my remote to select the 2.0 DD track the bass was fantastic!  It was not a subtle difference.  Of course w/ the 2.0 DD track I KNOW its stuffing everything (including LFE) into my front speakers.

So where is my .1 (LFE) info going when running multichannel?  Out the back of my entertainment center?

Any advice / recommendations would be appreciated.
