This would be perfect to power my three Pis and the Wyred Recovery that's on its way:

I too found the "I" part of the upsampling equation to be important. Makes you realize how much of the sound of a dac is simply due to the filtering chosen.

I'm also interested to hear about your experience with the iFi Power.

That case is for an add-on dac HAT (Hardware Attached on Top) and not the digi+ HAT that is used to get spdif coax and optical digital out. But essentially the same. I have one and it's very nice, no comparison to the plastic junk.

Yes I got the case if one is using a DIGI+ HAT. Much better quality then the plastic one. Only gripe is they don't provide any soft feet for the unit. I used some Sorbothane "Isolate-it" feet left over from another project.

In my system, the RP3 goes into a MiniDSP NanoDIGI, which is the crossover and EQ for the mains and subs. It also uses a similar 5 volt power supply, so I bought two identical iPowers, one for each. There was a audible improvement in the sound, in both detail and depth, most noticeable on my FLAC files.

Well now I bought the Pi3 and this case https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/cases/steel-case-for-hifiberry-dac-brushed-cover-2/

I haven't had a ton of time with the HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro on the PI so hopefully I will have more time once I get the above items in.
