hello Chris , my name is lance and i live in NYC.
i saw your ad for the nu prime sta 9 pair and i would like you to give me your honest opinion. i saw your basement set up and it is obvious you have quite the array of components that should give me an idea as to whether i should try these nu prime amps out.
Ive been using tubes for about 15 yrs; i haven't been in the solid state realm in that long....suffice it to say that Ive never been down the class D road. after reading so many good things about nu prime i really started getting interested. Ive incurred some physical disabilities and along with Age ; fussing about with my 75 lb tube power amp is just ridiculous at this point in my life. if i purchase these amps i will be using a rogue audio 99 super magnum preamp and monitor audio gold gsx 200. the preamp has NO balance adjustment; so these amps have to very close in output gain. just so you know my listening tastes : mostly records , jazz trio's to quintets, classical string quad to quintet, piano solos, female voice( IE Sarah Vaughn, Ella, Diana krall) etc,, i do not listen very loud at all 75 - 85 db max.
if you could give me some impression as to soundstaging and imaging #1, as well as midrange quality and perhaps how they match with Tube preamps and of course if you think i even need Two because of my low volume listening, i would truly appreciate it
thank you in advance
lance
