WTB Dodd battery Pre

Hi,

I have one that Gary built into a Melos preamp chassis if that would interest you.

It is the two tube,  6dj8 type ,  4 12 V batteries built into the chassis external charger.

OK, maybe the latter production versions are better.  Mine made 3 trips back to TX..

A friend brought his over this weekend and inserted it in my system. Good Synergy with my Tad60 amp feeding VMPS RX/X elixers. My current Pre is a Pass Labs xp30. The Dodd could not match the bass of the Pass but sounded a bit more realistic and less processed.

Repair all three time, or upgrades?
I have two Dodd preamps, one of the first batch, and one of the newer versions.  Neither has had an issue.

I sent my original preamp back to Gary to convert it to the newer 12v battery charger and also to have the caps upgraded to Mundorf Silver in oil.  I never had a problem with the preamp.  It took almost 10 years before I finally found a suitable replacement in my system.

I have one for sale. The newer version. It has a Russian 6H30DR tube that sounds unbelievable. Pm me and I'll run down all of the details.
