A sparingly used dynaudio BM5a mk2 for $SOLD. I don't have the boxes anymore, but they are in my office and were used for light music listening. But for the last 2 years, they have hardly seen any use.

Check out the Sound on Sound review (a good professional site - common sense reviews).  This speaker was one of their recommended monitors: click on reviews/hardware/monitors screen 5, "Active Nearfield Monitors").

I own the newer Mk III version and they are very steady/enjoyable performers (read my review here at AC).

Don't make the mistake of dismissing active speakers out of hand.  In this case you get 4 channels of matched amplification plus completely competent monitors in two packages at favorable pricing.  Just add one of the popular DAC/preamps to your PC and you have a complete digital system.

Thanks for the note, JLM. Ever since i've owned these active monitors, i've not come across any other speaker i'd rather have. I'm completely sold on active monitors.

I'm using this with a nice little tube buffer pre, and squeezebox touch. Lower end is augmented by a 10" sub, with some help from NHT X2 crossover.
