NITRO Interconnect for Son of Ampzilla

I have built a special interconnect cable to work with the new Son of Ampzilla.

It uses an Eichmann Bullet plug on the source end and a Neutrik 1/4" Phone Plug on the load side. The shiled is isolated on the load side with a capacitor to reject RFI.

The Son of Ampzilla uses a special Neutrik combo connector for its input. You can connect a fully balanced preamp to it using XLR connectors. When using a singled ended preamp, you need to use the 1/4" Phone Plug inputs. Mr. Bongiorno uses two different inoput circuits for singel ended and balanced. This cable eliminates the need for any adaptors or extra mechanical connections.

I hope I never get the upgrade bug with my Son of Ampzilla; I've already got two specially made ICs for it, and this one is sure tempting, but Jeez, enough is enough already right

Well, they arrived and I played some favorite tracks before swapping cables.  The quick A/B comparison was a surprise :o .   How dare these cables sound so good. :x  They cost substantially less than the cables I took out.  The only side bar is the adaptors supplied with the SoA2K fell apart as I unplugged the original cables.  I will spend some quality listening time this weekend.  If the Nitros sound this good, I wonder about the Summit.

I will report more after an extended listening.

Glad to hear the Nitro is sounding so good so far!  Isn't it great when you can spend less and get better sound?  :D

Thanks for initial reaction, David.

The Nitros are a VERY good cable for the money.Brian Cheney uses the same cable in his demo system with his SoA2K.

There are cables out there that can sound better, but they do cost A LOT more.

The Summits are one of those cables.

I just received a restock of the silver wire used in the Summits. It is going out for Cryo- treatment next week.

More Summits will be able to be built starting in December.
