For sale is a Bel Canto Ref500S stereo power amp that puts out 500 WPC peak into 4 ohms and 250 WPC into 8 ohms. RMS power is 400/200. It accepts both single ended RCA and balanced XLR inputs.

I have owned several much more expensive amps, including push-pull triodes, single-ended triodes, and pure Class A solid state, and this little guy gives up little to the best of them with loads of power and control, superior bass, LOTS of detail, blackest background, and miniscule power draw, running only lukewarm to the touch. Very smooth sound and natural tone, slightly on the warm side of neutral. It is an ideal match for Maggies.
I also have a stock ICEPower 125ASX2 amp (single module), and while it sounds nice, it is not even close to being the equal of this amp. Whatever Bel Canto has done has worked with superior results.
This is the version with the top of the line WBT Nextgen binding posts.
There is a small dent on the bottom right corner of the faceplate—see photo. It is replaceable if it bothers you. The unit was NOT dropped. This happened to another Bel Canto unit I previously shipped so I swapped face plates with that buyer.
Otherwise it in excellent shape and is fully functional. Original box is included. The manual is downloadbale.
