Stereotimes review of stock unit here:

and
http://stereotimes.com/amp100103.shtml

This amp was previously owned by Stereo Times reviewer Don Shaulis, who was present when Anthony did the mods. I purchased this from him approx 6+ years ago for $2600. Never any problems. Very good condition. Inside pic here:

Don writes, “… I know he did a lot of extra stuff.  I was present when he did the mods... Each amp had been partially modded before by Anthony but I was there when we did the last...

“I did a quick count and found 15 very small caps that were replaced on the main board and 14 medium and larger caps that were replaced between the two boards… also put some bypass caps underneath the board.

“The 3.3V regulator was replaced and a heat sink added.  And power board. All the mosfets were upgraded also.

"Replaced all 3 rectifiers with ultra high speed soft recovery bridges"… replaced the four orange rectangle boxes just underneath the binding posts with larger blue ones…”

“… I got a deal because I did three amps (two of which I purchased from Anthony) and I was his friend. The mods were kind of custom
I was using the amps with a 2.2X so I only needed two inputs with SC pulse transformers.  By doing one S/PDIF and one AES/EBU I was covered for whatever ICs I chose to use. Toslink does not use pulse transformers.

“Level 2 mod only lists 15 electrolytic and 4 poly film caps replaced... but I had 15 small caps replaced on the main board and another 14 (fourteen) larger caps replaced on the front board and the front half of the main board.  All caps on the front board were replaced. All caps on the front half of the main board (in front of the great aluminum wall) were replaced--except for the blue quad near the transformer. That is more than L2.

“I also remember Anthony putting some kind of bypass caps under the board in some areas. Again, above L2.  I was helping Anthony do the mods and he kept telling me of special touches he was doing.  Of course it was all beyond me…”
“The very expensive WBT posts are also above L2.

Recovery bridges do not compute based upon numbers. Anthony lists 3 but there are more. We did not replace all ribbons, only the critical 3. pics  show the drop-in power conditioner and torroidal transformer that replaced the "box" transformer on the input board. 15 shows the main rectifier in the center--right off of the main transformer.  Caps in the pic were all replaced and at the front of edge of the board, near the top there is a vertical heat sink added to something….
