Brian,

Rumored to be in the works --------

VMPS HT6+ Speaker system

HT 6+ speaker is a little brother to the 626R, using a 4.5” woofer, ribbon midrange and spiral tweeter.  It is only about half the size and only goes down to 60 Hz.  It is aimed squarely at a THX type home theater/ multi-channel audio experience.  For the all important center channel you can use a single horizontal HT6+ or, better yet, two of them horizontally head to head with a very small amount of toe-out to widen the sweet spot for dialog or vocals.  The same speaker can be used for side surrounds, either as a direct radiator, or with a uniquely designed diffuser that works with the speaker aimed up at the ceiling for a diffuse sound presentation.  The cleverly designed wall bracket allows for the speakers to be oriented horizontally or vertically and angled for proper surround optimization.  Depending on the size of the room and your budget, one or two subwoofers, either a 215 or a Larger sub would be used.  With a price point of only $595 in their base configuration, these HT6+ speakers, along with an appropriate sub(s), will let the crystal clear, transparent beauty of music envelope the user at a very competitive price.  Of course upgrades to FST tweeters will enhance the beauty of the system even more.  Three basic cabinets, black, light oak and rosewood could be augmented with exotic alternatives for an additional cost.  Target for availability is 200?.

OK, this falls under the category of "If you start the rumor, maybe it will come true."

sounds like a great rumor.  626r's are just too big to use as surrounds in my room.  BTW, anywhere I can see a pic of the 215 sub, specs, and price?
