I have RP2 connected to older ext USB soundcard (turtle beach microadvantage) hooked up to my linear PS for diy stereo t-amp, can see this on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NilxUYWOodI

It sounds good with moode audio player controlling things from my android tab. I am wondering whether better sound can be had by replacing it with a dac??, I see hifiberry dacs hooked up to RP2 is popular...

I heard of these compared to stock and it was an upgrade.

I use the IQAudio I2S dac with mine. It sounds as good as much more expensive units (and identical to an Apple TV).

Any update on this? I have a RP3 and have been using an external dac as well but I'm wondering how the HiFiberry et al perform. I've also got a Digi+ board on the way so I can try the dac built into my integrated amp as the external dac I used, Nuforce udac3, is buggy and not recognized by the runeaudio software I am using. It works but drops out every now and then.
