Man I don't know what it is about this show, but it hits me in the gut every time.  It's awesomely well done.  And I cried.  A lot.

Season 2 is really good as well. David Tennant and Olivia Colman are outstanding in this series. A must watch.

Has anyone watched Gracepoint, the US adaptation of the series?

I didn't cry, but agree it's a well done show. One of the few that is great from one scene to the next, one episode to the next. Not sure who the director/producers are but I wish they made more tv shows...

Broadchurch can be a tough one to watch, but well worth it. Enjoyed S1 more than S2.

The Killing is another one that that has the same feel, well acted & a gripping story.

I had watched Broadchurch from the first second it hit the air.  I watched the first 5 minutes of Gracepoint and couldnt go another second.

The British can make a three part tv series that will rival and beat most USA movies I just the cinematography.   The plots are deep and hold you till the last second.  The footage of the blowing grass and rolling fog I a British production will out do twenty minutes of a US production with hours of script.

Some other titles to look into, Happy Valley,  Top of The Lake, Luther and my fav Wallander.  If you have Netfix and use a pc they have a couple of British categories.

And might poi t out the Orignal thought and production of House of Cards is from the BBS.

I really liked Broadchurch too.

You can watch Gracepoint on youtube. I don't remember how much I watched of the first episode but outside of Tennant, I didn't think most of the rest of the other actors were as good as  the English version.

Finished the second season.  What an amazing arc.  Not sure if there'll be a season 3, but I kind of hope that they just call it quits here, on a very, very high note.
