.....but all rack cases are steel, most consumer electronics cases are steel, most computer boxes are steel.......well some of the above are available in plastic (blimey, don't tell me we are talking Teflon cases:o).The reason I prefer steel (apart from the fact I have a tin ear) is that it is way way way easier and cheaper to finish than aluminium. Can I put in a vote for stainless steel here. Some grades are non-magnetic [or damn close to it] and, while I don't like the look of it for a complete case, it can be very useful as a platform. It also needs no paint or powder coating and doesn't rust or throw off its finish in the long term. I might be biased here.
