introduce myself and ask a question about speakers
« on: 21 Apr 2016, 04:24 am »
Hello,

I am not member of the industry.  I am a music lover and like to listen to a good system.  I like music from most genres.  I currently have 2 Bryston 4B NRBs set up in a passive vertical bi-amplifying a set of Mirage M5SIs. I am looking to upgrade my speakers.  I was listening to a set of Model T signatures and was impressed.  I was telling the salesman that I would likely bi-amplify these speakers however he suggested that I turn my amps into mono blocks of 800W per side and bi-wire these speakers for better results.  Any comment, suggestions or pros and cons.

Thank you

Welcome Ear to the Ground :thumb:
If your speaker was a Klipsch RF7II (101dB) you would need only a integrated Bryston B60 or a 10W tubed amp to roll the windows.

Welcome.

Why not try it both ways (at the dealer)?

I agree with JLM.

Totally different equipment, but I've tried it before. After a few months I went back to a single amp as it seemed to sound more natural that way.

Lastly, you should ask this question on the Bryston forum. Very knowledgeable people over there.
