Interest check for Auralic Altair purchased about two months ago and in like new condition. The unit is in great working and cosmetic condition. The press release for this unit describes the Altair as a "marriage between the Vega and Aries."
Reasons for Selling:
I purchased this primarily to play DSD but quickly went through my small collection of DSF files and returned to listening mostly to FLAC. Thus, the Altair is a bit redundant in my system. Also, my system is near my toddler's playpen and so my wife is complaining of the wifi antennas. The Altair can be hardwired but impractical for my setup. Finally, although the USB digital out of the Altair works great, the USB input of my Master 7 is not so good which limits the Altair as a primary source. I'm not too keen of adding another unit (i.e., a USB DDC convertor) to resolve this issue.
Selling Points:
This is a great all-in-one system with headphone output, and can be great complement to an existing DAC/source by adding DSD and streaming functionality in one unit.
