I saw a pair of these on Audiogon. Looks like an AV123 X-Omni. Shorter, sealed box, maybe a larger mid/woofer. Cabinet reminds me of several Shahinians with exposed plywood edges.
Has anyone seen or heard these?

If I was in the market I'd be all over these...I drove mine with a Manley Stringray and loved them. Punchy in a good way and warmish, but not overly so. Beautiful to look, too...about as high on the WAF scale as it gets. That's a great price...

I am interested in these. The no shipping rules them out.
They sure look like me X-Omni speakers. With better grilles.
Like most Omani-directional speakers the total is more than the sum of parts. It is interesting that they were 4,000.00 over ten years ago.

IMO they were overpriced at $4K...a beautiful and excellent speaker, but I suspect some amount of that price was due to the relatively high cost to bring them over from Germany (as I recall, I bought mine for about $3K new). But at $1200-1300, they are a fantastic buy.

They're significantly smaller than the X-Omnis (9" shorter), and although I have not seen the X-Omnis up close, I can guarantee they are not in the same league from a build-quality perspective (the veneering on the Oms is exquisite, and the enclosures are birch ply rather than MDF).

I can't compare the two sonically, but I'm guessing they're more alike than not...but that's just speculation on my part.

I heard them a while back, maybe in 2005 at a dealer in NJ.  I forgot the name of the dealer.  I remember them being quite good, clear, punchy but not necessarily harsh.  I think they were driven by Consonance monoblocks.  They never got much traction in the US except for an even or odd review in a Webzine?  They were compact and beautiful indeed.  They ran on the same line of as Audio Physics compact ranges.

Hudson Audio was (is) the importer. Not many folks sell FJ stuff; I got mine from Venus Hifi, which no longer exists. It's a shame more folks don't know about FJ/Blumenhofer's stuff in the US; it's great gear.
