New from Munich, Germany

Hello,

my name is Roberto, and I am a music lover.  For me audio equipment is a means to get enjoyment out of the music I love, and also to discover new music.  This does not mean that I am not trying to tweak my stuff to make it perform better, which sometimes gets a bit crazy.  I have a degree in music composition and a doctorate in mathematics, now work in product security, including cryptography.

Audio gear: I recently sold my NAIM equipment (32.5, HiCap, 140) to purchase an Abrahamsen pre/power amp combo (V30 UP pre with V40 UP power amp). My DAC is a Gustard X20U. Source is a modified Marantz SA7001KI, used now almost exclusively as a CD transport. Speakers inspired by AN/E but with Seas Excel tweeters. Van den Hul (D102 MkIII hybrid) and Sommer cable (Epilogue) balanced interconnects and Can den hum Magnum hybrid speaker cables - terminated myself with z plugs.

I also like to solve twisty puzzles and photography.  But, before everything I mentioned above, my greatest joys in life are given me by my wife and my son: despite all the intellectual and spiritual enjoyment science and art can give, there's simply nothing that compares to them.

 Roberto

Welcome Roberto.  Thanks for joining us and be sure to post some pictures of your gear for those of us on the other side of the pond that would never see your choices of gear.
