Just got some Bryston equipment.

Hi Everyone,

I had a older gentleman offer these to me in the parking lot of my job the other day. He was intending to recycle them as they had been taking up space in his attic for a while. He says they worked great and only stopped using them because he upgraded. His wife was making him get rid of them and he wanted to offer them to someone before he just chucked them in the recycle bin. I haven't been able to find much on these because they are certainly a little old. I did find some info on the Pre-Amp where it's said to sound pretty good. I have found little to nothing on the amp itself. I guess I'm here to try and see if anyone knows how these are and if they are of any value. I'd like to use them but that means I need to invest in some really nice speakers. I have not tested the units yet but they seem to be in great shape. Just a few scratches here and there. Here are the model numbers.

Bryston 2B-LP Amplifier

Bryston BP4 Pre-Amp

The BP4 has balanced and unbalanced outputs. The 2B-LP is standard stereo RCA.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks James! I am considering selling them as I'm in the middle of a Home Theater System build but not quite sure. Any idea what these are worth if they work okay?

That's amazing!  I've seen mass market crap offered for next to nothing, given away or take a trip to the dumpster, but never any Bryston components.

The 2B-LP has been in production for awhile and I'm not sure of the vintage of yours, but they sell new for $2150 in the US and there are a few listed on eBay asking $450 to $750.

Don't remember seeing a listing for a BP4, but it's hard to imagine it wouldn't be worth at least $300 in working condition.
