Wednesday night is the Capitol Hill Jazz Jam. No cover. A jar is passed for tips. You are asked to order two items from the food/drink menus. The music is consistently good, people are friendly, and the venue is intimate:

Hi there gsm18439.  Nice to here from folks in my part of the world  .  That scene has been happening for some years now.  I've been trying to get to HR54 as well..they have a jam night also.  I wonder if they are still open?

HR57 moved from 14th Street, NW, to H St, NE. It never thrived in the H St location and closed. There has been talk of a new location at some time in the future, but so far nothing definite.
