My first MacBook Pro, any tips?
« on: 20 Dec 2015, 01:29 pm »
Hey guys I got tired of a Windows computing environment so I bought a MacBook Pro, 13" non-retina with a large storage capability and DVD drive (remember them....LOL).
So far its fabulous and super easy to pick up on, I put Maschine (Mikro II) on it and plan on spending my winter learning how to use it and bopping around my new apartment with the grooves I intend to work on.....I'm a kid in a candy store with it so does anyone have any tips for me. Its on OSX El Capitan and beside the Maschine install its fresh.
If you guys have any tips on what not to do and whats good to do please let me know......eclein is back online....LOL. Happy Holidays!!!

An easy one is setup a Time Machine backup HDD. That way you can have some protection with Apple's built in backup.

avoid the latest update...El Capitain unless you have at least 8gb of memory.
If you can swing it, get JRiver version 20 to play your tunes.
Hibuck....
