I have 2,3,4 and 10 and agree completely. The Zorn/Mycale nicely surprised me and it's great, acapella, somewhere between Sweet Honey and Meredith Monk. I'm a big fan of  both Vijay and Coleman, both have similar approaches. And who doesn't like Fred Hersch? Ran Blake does surprise me here.

I thought the Mulligan Emarcy set wasn't supposed to be released until 2016, and then only on vinyl. Regardless, I'll buy it as soon as it's out.

I'd like to give a shout out for the Chick Corea/Béla Fleck live recording "Two", and the posthumously released "Jim Hall/Charlie Haden", also live. (I think they forgot to switch the NR on the tape deck to 'On' for that one, but the music makes up for it.)

I have 2,3,4 & 9(IMO, big band recording of the year), and I would add to the list Christian McBride Trio-Live at the Village Vanguard.

I am always interested in seeking out new (to me) artists/music and try to keep an open mind when hearing new (to me) music. And the largest genre of music I own is jazz. I don't know who Fred Kaplan is, but if his top ten picks are even somewhat indicative of some of the "best" jazz for 2015, I guess I'll just have to keep spinning oldies. I just don't get nearly all ten picks, nor how most of it can even be referred to as "jazz".

Modified: I did find the Erik Freidlander one interesting.
