Bass Traps
« on: 8 Jan 2016, 02:50 am »
Hi,

I have a question if I may.

Background:
I have begun to treat my HT room and got some Bass Traps from WaveAcoustic of Barrie, Ontario  (BAD CHOICE) and I was supposed to get 4 Bass Traps to cover the two front corner but they "WaveAcosutic" delivered only 2 Bass Traps and I haven't hear from the sales guy Danny Scott for over a month, basically Danny Scott is MIA and won't return my calls.

Question:
Is it better to leave the Bass Trap seating on the floor or hang it half way up the wall (corner)?

Thanks in advance.

Hipper

I would think the floor corners would be the best place to start.

Looking at the Wave Acoustic site the best performing bass traps look like being the BassBoss. However they don't give any measurements as to what they can do.

I suggest you check out GIK or RealTraps if you want to continue on this road. I've dealt with GIK in the UK and can recommend them. They have a Circle hear and also can offer you advice. Look at both the sites. There's a wealth of information to help you and you'll notice they do have measurements that tell you how effective their products are. I use Soffit Traps as well as other panels.

In the UK we have consumer law that can deal with failed transactions. With in time limits you can return items you are not satisfied with and demand refunds for non deliveries. There is also Credit Card cover and even Debit Cards have 'Chargeback'. I've only had one instance of this and I got free advice from our Citizen's Advice Bureau - all I had to do was ask for my money back quoting a consumer law and I got the money almost straight away.

Sorry to hear about them not following through. You should be able to do a chargeback on your credit card with no problems.  Needless to say if we (GIK Acoustics) can be of any help just let us know.  We have a form you can fill out to get your room information
