The VPI 299D will be arriving in time for the open house at Viva Hifi this Saturday, December 5. It looks great on paper and I expect it to sound the same even if it might not be fully broken in. I plan to use it with the new ELAC speakers. I uses 4 EL-34 or KT-88, 4 12AU7, and a 5AR4. It's rated at 38 wpc ultra linear or 20 wpc triode. It has a MM phono stage which I expect to be excellent since it is Harry Weisfeld's design and it has a tone control and headphone output. Remember to RSVP via PM if you'd like to attend.
