Silly me. I'd forgotten how pointless it is posting any opinion here which diverges even slightly from your own.
Perhaps you might find more support for you opinions if you would post some measurements and the effects of applications of your ideas.  For example, how did you decide on the baffle width?  What is the baffle step at that width?  How do you address it?

I've never seen speakers/drivers mounted that way - I would think that having a reflecting surface (door/wall) that close to one side of them would limit the performance, perhaps drastically. I wonder if it would effect them the same (planar vs cone) or differently?

Agreed.

One of the big problems with DIY, especially with OB designs, is that people think it's easy -- just toss a driver or two onto a flat surface and viola! -- you have instant high end audio. No measurements required.

Danny can deliver the meat, but in his Serenity Super 7 OB design using the same drivers it goes far beyond baffle width, you can see him using specific sized and shaped wings for the front and rear of the baffle along with a specifically designed waveguide for the tweeter to align the tweeter's front and rear output with the other drivers.

 instead of taking offence to the  reply,k  why don't you   ask about the cabability you're missing, seemed more like an offer to  imprve upon what you've done  rather than what you took it as

Danny was just saying that there's a lot left to explore. For that matter there's probably a lot left to experience in the Sea's as well...

Opinions are informed by knowledge and experience. Yes, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, but not all opinions have equal credibility. For instance, in regards to a legal question, the opinion of a person with a law degree has more validity than does one of a person who does not. And the opinion of a lawyer who has actually tried a case in court carries more weight than one who hasn't.

No one has worked with those drivers more than I have. My last post was just to gauge if there was any interest in helpful tips.

Believe me, if any one can help your speakers sound better Danny can, he has been working with those exact same drivers for years and has hundreds of very happy clients all over the world!
