One of my 4BSST’s refused to wake up last night. I have pulled it out of the rack and tried it with a different power cord that I know is working to no avail.

There is no soft start hum and neither of the lights come on at all. The night before was the first time I noticed something was not right when the amp did not come on when I first tried it. I checked all the cabling and then tried again and it did power on. It then worked flawlessly for that evenings listening. Last night it was the same but this time no matter what I have tried it will not come on.

I have checked that the trigger switches are both set to local and also tried with them in the set the other way.
I assume this means I need to contact PMC in the UK and dig out the box and receipts (which are in my parents loft) Is there anything else I should try before sending them off?

I hope the repair won’t be long as cant bare to be without music. Has anyone else had experience of sending an amp into repair at PMC UK?

I originally purchased it from Total Audio Solutions in the UK but doing a quick internet search I’m not sure if they are still around or if they are they look like they only do rental and no longer deal with Bryston. I will be calling PMC at 9am so should know more then.

Thanks for the reply. I have spoken to PMC who suggested switching the 2 remote power on trigger selector switches back and forth a few times to see if the had suffered any corrosion. This has not worked so I have raised a support request for a service. I will report back on how things turn out.

If they need to order in parts to fix the Amp do you have any idea how long it will take?

PMC have had my amp for over a week now. They are still awaiting a reply from Bryson regarding getting new parts. Is there anything you can do to move the process on?
