Sweet Sounding LGK 1s!

Danny,

I've got to hand it to you (and I know this is a long time coming). Your LGK 1 speakers sound really nice.

I've had them in 5 different rooms in my house (home office desk top, master bdrm, family room, garage, and now living room) and they sound different in each room. They actually sounded pretty poor in a couple, but right now I've got them in my nearly empty living room/dining room. It's 13' W x 29' L x 8.5' high. The speakers are on a short wall about 2' from the front wall and sitting on these 34" tall flower stands. I'm powering them with my AVA 400R and AVA T8 preamp.

WOW! They sound awesome. I'm playing mostly piano music this morning. I have to keep checking to make sure there's no baby grand sitting in there.

Let's see if I can get a picture for everyone to see. Hang on a sec. Got one.

Michael

Wow, that's a lot of space for a pair of 3" drivers to fill.  I have to build a set of these for destop use.

Michael,

Does this mean you've solved the problem of speakers while overseas? Are you using a sub?

Ed,

Absolutely fantastic desktop speakers. They impressed everybody who listened to them at LASF, and that was without a sub.

Hi, Mike.

There's no sub in the living room. It's in the family room's HT system. The LGKs sound good all alone. The boxy thing in front of the fireplace is a moving box filled with stuff. The house is almost empty now and we still have two weeks before we leave.

The LGKs will not accompany us to Taiwan. I've just about finalized my choice, but will wait to announce till I'm sure. I'm down to a single manufacturer, but I haven't decided which model to settle on. [So secretive! ] Edit: Now that was weird. Out of nowhere, my wife just said, "Let's take these speakers to Taiwan."  :duh:

Speaking of LSAF - There's a chance my wife and I will be in the Austin area in April 2016. Exact dates are unknown, but I shall try to include LSAF in our plans.  :)

What happened to the couch you were laying on taking that power nap when I came over last week

You mean that deliciously soft white leather sofa?  Shaun and his buddy carried it down to the basement room and maneuvered it into the room. All of the furniture we're keeping is in there. The door will be locked in our absence.

I'm going to miss that sofa. It is so so comfy. :(

You weren't thinking of maybe keeping an eye on it, were you?

At this point I do not know what's going to happen to the LGKs. I s'pose you could babysit them if we don't take them. They make great computer speakers.
