Steve, unlike the Lenco, the VPI is not spring action.  You would have to make sure that you get the right tension each time between the drive belt and the platter or the speed will be off, etc.  It sounded great, but it just took more work than I wanted to do as I have very limited time to listen to vinyl and with it, it takes too long to get an LP up and running, etc.  I would have to check speed each listening session.  While it didn't take more than a few minutes, in my set up with the dust cover, etc., I had to remove the RD when not listening in order to get the dust cover over the table.  Yes, I could have just paid more money for a new larger dust cover and larger rack, but situation didn't warrant it.

Thanks Dave!   I am glad those phono cables, first generation/first batch, are still in your fine system!  Still have the VPI table?

Tuan!

Tuan, yes my Aries III continues to put a smile on my face !

Hey Tuan,

Nice table  :thumb:

Question, on the left rear arm, are you picking up any interference or bleed over from the motor since the two are so close to each other?

Reason I ask, I've got all the parts for my new table. I plan on doing four arms. I'm a little hesitant on the motor layout because I have a sneaking suspicion that the electrical field from the motor will get picked up and amplified by the closest arm. The motor I'm using is much like the VPI. Fully enclosed in a heavy casing.

Scott,

Thank you!

You know, I have not heard heard any noise or electrical issues with either arm...
I make my own i/c and well, luckily, I don't have that problem.

Hope this helps.
