Here are my custom Selah Audio monitors. These are one of a kind speakers using the Scanspeak Revelator 5.5" midwoofers and the restricted availability wide range, category killing Raal 70-20XR tweeters. These are world class drivers that list for around $1400 in total. The highly regarded Salk Silk, at about $3500/pr., is a similar design, substituting a paper cone Illuminator for the Revelator in a smaller cabinet.
Rick Craig at Selah built these in slim 8"x9"x19" cabinets and gave them an unusual finish- silver stain over maple. It looks like a cross between wood and hammered metal.
The cabinets are 3/4" thick and are lined with 1/4" of modeling clay, which makes them very dead as well as very heavy at ~35lbs. ea.
Sonically, there are few, if any monitors (besides Selah) < $2k that outperform them in small to medium rooms. These speakers sound better to me than nearly everything I've put them up against, including lots of bigger name, pricier speakers.
In a room less than 200 square feet, these offer a super combination of ultra clean detail and superb balance from 50 hz. to beyond audibility, yet are very musical and easy on the ears. The midbass and bass are tuned to be very tight and flat, with a smooth roll off. In larger rooms they work well with a sub.
They are in great shape generally, but one bottom rear corner has an 1/8" dent, and a penny sized bit of veneer on that corner has a wrinkle in it.
Black magnetically attaching grills are included. Shipping weight will be about 85 lbs. in 2 boxes.
It's hard to set a price on these- they cost $2300 new, and IMO were very underpriced at that. They use some of the best drivers out there. Drivers like these usually are found in speakers $5k and up, and no one blends drivers better than Rick Craig. Sonically they are very hard to beat for their size, certainly near my price. They are another real gem from Selah Audio.
So buy these speakers from me for less than the list price of the tweeters alone. I predict you'll consider yourself lucky to have them, as I have.
