On the fence with ob
« on: 18 Sep 2015, 06:22 pm »
Hi guys,
I am on the fence with ob and want to make an affordable start to see if its my thing.
I got my hands on four Alpha 15a woofers and I am about to purchase a couple used B200's.

I need to order filter parts now to make a start when everything gets in. I have seen samples of cross over filters for one Alpha 15a and B200 and I think I have seen a post with a filter for two Alpha's but I can't find it.
Can anybody make a suggestion for a cross over filter for two Alpha's and one B200 please?

Many thanks!

Usually the oldfashioned receipt for Alpha15A and other 15'' woofers are not a full xover, just a inductor.
Avoid inductors with solid cores, favor air core ribbons.
4.7mH value will cut at 280-300Hz as used for years:

PM our AC member Jeff at Sonic Craft he is a friendly seller.

Thanks for your help.
I'll order the coils so I can start when the drivers get in. (And I have cut the ply  :))

There is a 71 pages tread here on Audiocircle about B200
It is called "Gravity Well Of A DarkStar"
You will find all info you need
Enjoy and succes with your build

Lol, I made the first step by buying a couple of second hand drivers.
Now waiting for the drivers and some spare time.  :green:
