Bryston amps and Furutech spades
« on: 14 Nov 2015, 03:37 pm »
I was just wondering if anyone was using Furutech's CF-201R spades to connect to your Bryston amps and if there were any fit issues? These are the spades I'm planning on getting but I've come across a few different posts on different forums about spade fitting issues and people either squeezing or pulling wider their spades which is something I don't want to have to do. I don't think those cases involved Bryston/Furutech but it never hurts to ask just to be safe.

Thanks

The CF-201 are standard 5/16" spades, the only issues I've seen are due to binding post plates that have the posts inset inside a cup so they don't stick out past the plane of the speaker wall, there wasn't enough room for the spade's bodies inside the cup. Luckily, I rarely see this kind of post outside of pro audio gear. The FT-211R are the same spades with plastic bodies instead of stainless/carbon. I'd replace binding posts before I'd destroy such expensive spades by squeezing them in to fit crappy non-standard binding posts...  the Furutech binding posts are awesome and a perfect fit.
