Bryston cables
« on: 19 Jun 2015, 04:02 pm »
Hi!

I have a couple of questions about Bryston cables. Specifically the AES/EBU XLR cable and the XLR analogue interconnects. I already have these so no alarms but I am curious so please reply if you know.

1) where are these Belden (for AES/EBU) and Van Damme (for analogue) cables made?
2) what about the connectors used? Who makes them and where?
3) does Bryston solder the connectors themselves or is it done for Bryston by someone else?

I have read something that staggered me. Some manufacturers like Belden make their cables in the USA but then have them shipped to China for connector soldering and then back to USA to be sold... I mean, if it pays to ship it across the world twice, then it speaks enough about just how little people in China get paid to do it.

Please reply if you know!

Best,
Antun

Hi Antun

Van Damme is made in Germany and Belden in the USA.

The RCA connects and the XLRs are sourced in Canada.

We do all the soldering and connections here at Bryston.
