OB Speaker Setup

Danny,

Could you please give your recommendations on where to start with OB speaker placement and servo sub amp settings.
Specifically, speaker toe-in, distance between speakers, phase and how the high pass filter f3 relates to crossover setting on the sub amp.
I have the Wedge/ Wedge base and other than 3 or meet feet from the wall, all the other info I can find on setting up seems inconsistent and sometimes contradictory.

Distance from the front wall, speaker toe-in, distance apart from each other, and listening distance are all a factor of the size of your room. The bigger the room the greater all of those distances can be.

Speaker toe-in can have a lot to do with side wall reflections or how lively the room is. You need to play with this and listen closely to get the best results.

As for blending the servo subs to them the main issue is phase control and crossover point. I don't recall the optimal for them, and I don't have a pair set up right now. Once you get the phase dialed in then you can leave it there. The crossover control will vary the overlap and let you thin out or thicken up the lower vocal range real easily with that control. I spend some time listening and making fine adjustments.

Thank you Danny for the explanation.

I was wrong thinking that they needed toe-in like conventional speakers. My Wedgies have always sounded like the soundstage was shifted a couple
feet to the right. Couldn't ever figure it out until last night when I started playing around with decreasing toe-in and at about 5 deg of toe-in, the soundstage came
back to the center and the music seemed to come into finer focus. It was quite easy to tell where that spot was.
