I'm in Boston supporting my oldest daughter in her 4th Boston Marathon and went to Newbury Comics today. I was surprised I was able to pick up some RSD records like the Zombies, Bob Dylan, Jethro Tull and Sun Records various artists. Also picked up a couple of records that had been on list for a while. I forgot to look for the Sloan record.

Wooden Tooth grand opening sale, $2 each and all excellent quality.

The 1977 David Grisman Quintet album is amazing. Heavy vinyl, quiet and crystal clear, this is one demo album that you would never get tired of. The quick picking and attack of the strings will reveal flaws in many systems. Look for it. Kaleidoscope Records F-5, Orange Kaleidoscope label & front cover catalog # in upper righthand corner.

Record store day? If you live in the boonies and "record store day" is any day the owner of the only pathetic RS decides to open up,you are left with leftovers online. Most of the "good stuff" is sold out and bought "in store",and rightly so as that is the idea, right.Truth be told,so much of this stuff ends up on Ebay at inflated prices.Ever try to buy a concert ticket? same thing...the "brokers" move in and secure the product.
Frankly, there is not much that interested me this year, but I did want to upgrade my copy of the first Charlie Musselwhite lp on Vanguard. "Stand Back",has been out of print for years,it was one of our high school favs when it came out.I am on my third copy now and a "new" one is a no brainer. Searching the net I found a copy at Amoeba.com,the website of the home depot sized record stores in L.A. and S.F. Not only did I find a copy but a coupon code "ctg"  that brought the lp down from 20.00 to 15.00 and free shipping. The sun just passed by the clouds! Looks like there are some other special issue vinyls still available on this site and maybe there is one there you have been looking for to make your day sunny.

Could not resist purchasing this RUSH classic album and at 200g. One thing that I did notice was that the plastic wrapping for the album was very lose, some albums you see these days are warping due to the tight shrink wrapping  :duh:

My favorite was the Thelonious Monk London Collection Vol 2 reissued by ORG. Sound quality was tremendous and of course the music was as well.
