Questions regarding a rcently aquired BP 25 pre
« on: 15 Mar 2006, 03:13 am »
Hi ; I have just bought a used Bp25 to use with my 3bst.  It seems to me that is an older version since its just a linestage without remote or phono.  Is there such a version?, I thought that the bp 20 is the same as the Bp 25 just without remote.  While i bought it from a non-Bryston dealer that got it as a trade in and he clerly stated that the unit doesn,t have remote, could it be be that its a remote equiped unit and that I just need to get the remote control?   Also the led light on the left side , In between the stereo /mono and tape montior toggle doesnt light up at any point .  What,s the function of this led light? Thanks in advance :)

Hi Carlos,

The BP20 was the same as a BP25 without remote.
If your unit has the 'red eye' then all you need is a BP25 remote.

Thanks James for your quick reply.  Is the "red eye" located in between the the tape /source & mono/stereo toggle swithches on the left side ?  Mine has it.....!
My bp25 serial # 25153 has the old bp-psr...could my unit qualify for a Mps-1 ugrade?...In this case could you quote me the price for this and also for the remote control.
Thanks in advance.  Carlos Villarreal :)

HI Carlos,

Yes the EYE (RF Reciever) is where you indicate it is. Your serial number is 1 digit short - should be 6 numbers.

There are no MPS-1 power supplies available just MPS-2 power supplies which will work with your BP25 but you need a special power cable to go between the back of the BP25 and the MPS-2.

The BP25 Remote is $300 US and the MPS-2 Power Supply is $1200.
