POCKET HERCULES
I built these as part of a challenge to build super high end speakers from components at a fraction of the cost. To introduce myself and the speakers: I am an experienced diy builder of speakers, these are my masterpieces.
This is an awesome speaker that goes very deep on the low end (down to 28 hz) as a result of awesome 5.5 inch seas woofers. The configuration is 1" Sonatex-dome tweeter and a 5.5" cast-magnesium cone woofer, built by SEAS of Norway for only the most discerning of high end audiophiles. This is a super deal as the speakers built with these components normally retail for multiple thousands of dollars.
A serious audiophile friend of mine who reviews speakers in various forums said "they produced sweet treble, a neutral midrange, giant deep bass, and a focused sound stage for a natural, involving overall sound. For tiny bookshelves, they had the immense size and presence of a giant floorstanders."
Bottom line : There is no need for a subwoofer. These are the real POCKET HERCULES of audiophile speakers.

The part numbers for the drivers are:
Tweeter
T25CF-002
Woofer
W16NX-001-04
The crossovers are built using Goertz coil and ClarityCap ESA caps.
Super high end speakers built using these have been reviewed on Stereophile.
Please see recommended components from Stereophile - you can see many use SEAS drivers including these very drivers. Google "2014-recommended-components-loudspeakers" from Stereophile.
The speakers are 4 ohm nominal impedance, 87 Db sensitivity and 100 watts power handling.
They are tiny - 14 x 10 x 10.
