I'm a new (and happy) owner of the BP26. It's a perfect functional fit because I have a multitude of sources. I have one issue: too much gain. I rarely have to turn the volume control past the 10 o'clock position. I tried using the unbalanced output but it seemed to make little difference. I use a Audio Research 100.2 solid state amp which specs 1.3v output with 26.5 db gain either balanced or unbalanced. I can live with this situation but I wonder if I'm not getting maximum sound quality because the volume control is not in a optimal position?
