I have the Astron 12A power supply. It puts out ~13.6V. The LDR3x requires 12V. Is 13.6V too high? I'm nearing the completion of my build ...don't want to take any risks.
The TLC2274CN rail-to-rail buffer quad op amp used in the auto-cal circuit has a max supply voltage spec of 16 V. This is the limiting factor. I did push supply above 16V out of curiosity one day. It does indeed fail quite undeniably - you can hear it, see it and smell it.
13.6 volts should work ok for the V2
The V2.1 will have socketed op amp so alternatives can be tried. There are other op amps than can handle higher (and lower ) although I've not yet tested alternatives. For example the LT1499 can handle 36V. The two other op amps on the board (not rail to rail) are lowly LM324's which can handle 32V differential which with single sided power should mean +32 V.
(oops, the LT1499 is a surface mount! )
