I'm selling a pair of SW-8-16 drivers (for open baffle use) and a Rhythmic HX300 Servo amp (to power these OB drivers). I purchased the drivers and amp at the beginning of this year and built a test enclosure to be able to model the sound quality in various positions in my listening room.

Meanwhile, I imported three pair of Rethm speakers from India that have bass augmentation built in and no longer need these open baffle components. I used them only once and mounted the speakers and amp to the test enclosure. The enclosure is made out of 3/4" pine and can't be played at high volumes without vibrating. At low volumes, its perfect so good for near field listening or just modeling the speakers to determine what you might want to build for yourself.

I'm asking slightly less than actual cost plus I'll pay for shipping. The enclosure doesn't need to be shipped unless you really want it. I'll only charge $25 to help offset the cost of shipping the enclosure if you want it. If not, it goes in the trash.

So here's what you get:

One pair of SW-8-16 FR, open baffle, gr-research subwoofer drivers
One single Rhythmic servo amp (HX300) designed for these drivers
And optionally (if you want it) - a good test enclosure for the amp and two drivers

You can contact me at: richard@aumacoustics.com

Let me know if you have an interest. The drivers will be shipped in a single box (double boxed). The amp will ship in a single box (also double boxed). And, I will package the enclosure if you want it for an additional $25 to help offset my actual shipping cost.

Total price for both drivers and servo sub is $475. Cost for the enclosure is $25.

Actual cost of components is $129 x 2 for the drivers plus $299 for the servo amp = $557 plus you would also need to pay for shipping if purchased new.

I can't imagine them to have had much output in that type of a baffle.

He describes it as a "test enclosure."  I'm not sure what you can test with that configuration other than listening for driver aerodynamic noises and possibly identifying flooring problems in the listening room.  :)
It's basically a completely open-air construction and will result in nearly no bass at all.

Yes, Dave I agree.

Poor execution for OB. The site attempts to make a case for near field listening. I have to question the validity of any audition this group uses to promote such an oxymoron. That's why they created headsets, remove the room.

Hi Tasar,
I sure don't want to start a worldwar II,
but I think you should avoid using the word: oxymoron.
I don't have any other alternative word,
therefore I will stop here with my comment.
Yes, I know, who am I to tell you that?

I don't think the enclosure matters, as an interested party would buy the amp and drivers, not it. The real question is, is a potential buyer saving enough off the new price from Danny to justify buying this used set?
