Hi ACer's,

This is a relist of a very old thread. I have threatened (myself) with selling this little wonder several times. I have gotten to the edge of the precipice and pulled back three times. This time however, it is a done deal. I have changed my system and now need to change my preamp...So again, I reluctantly have decided to sell my AudioTropic Moebius Linestage. It is a wonderful tube preamp that is small, simple and sounds terrific. It is in very good condition: Rated 7/10. It has a few marks on it, plus it was  a bespoke piece that has that wonderful handmade quality, so if you are looking for audio jewelry, this is not a Rolex. It is however, very beautiful in its simplicity.

This was a show unit that was purchased as used directly from the builder, Eric Kingsbury after it made its rounds around the USA.

Mine is similar to the unit Michael Lavorgna reviewed for 6Moons (see link below). It has two inputs, one output and an Alps Blue potentiometer. I will include Sylvania and RCA tube sets. This pre is quiet and has a natural tube warmth without being "tubey". It has been a perfect companion for both an 845 based SET amp and Channel Islands Class D amps.

While not perfect (you have to fiddle with the side mounted tubes sometimes to get them in the right spot), the Moebius is a very special preamp and it deserves to be in the hands of someone who will appreciate its fine qualities. I don't think you can do better for the money.

Price: $800.00 US dollars. Sale to USA buyers only. Payment via U.S. Postal Money Order. I cannot take paypal on this transaction, sorry. (REVISED: I may consider Paypal, but you will need to add 3% for the PP fee.)

I have the box in which it was sent to me, but it is not a custom box. There was no manual, but everything you need to know is in the 6 moons article. Eric Kingsbury has taken down the Audiotropic website and I don't believe he is currently making any more of these gems. I will upload some pics tonight.

Thanks for looking, PM me if you are interested.

(FYI: I have listed a pair of CIA D-100B mono's and some nice used 2A3 and 45 tubes at AA...good prices...need to sell to fund some new gear!)

2-6-15 Update:

Hello all,

I never sold the Moebius, as I began to waffle again. Well, now it is back for sale, with a few comments and changes: First of all, I now have a new preamp, so this wonderful piece is without a doubt for sale. While I was making my last ditch effort to incorporate this with my Slagle Autoformers (sounded phenomenal, but very limited volume control), I decided to see if a new volume control for the Moebius would make a significant difference. I installed a new 100K Ohm DACT CT2 stepped resistor VC and the improvement over the stock Alps Blue pot is tremendous. So this is a big plus for the new owner. There was one unfortunate thing that happened, somehow one of the aluminum top plates got scratched up.  It was hand polished, so I am going to attempt to get it repaired.  Being a bespoke piece, the Moebius is beautiful, but not cosmetically perfect. At any rate, I am still asking the price as the ad in this listing. but with the addition of the DACT VC.  This really is a great piece or I would not have had so much trouble selling it. Yes, it is a basic two input linestage, but I seriously doubt you can find one that sound this great for the same money.  Also, since I first considered selling several years ago, I belief Eric Kingsbury has quite building gear, so there are very few of these fine preamps built by Poinz himself...

Thanks for looking!!
