Ifi Itube Tube Buffer/Pre

Anybody try this tube buffer?
http://ifi-audio.com/portfolio-view/micro-itube/

I've been playing around with my two DACS.  Audioquest Dragonfly (v 1.0) and Cambridge Audio DACMagic with the Mini set-up.  Liking the Dragonfly over the Cambridge.  Seems "smoother".  Love my Bottlehead Crack for headphones.  Wondering about adding a tube in the digital chain for the speakers.

Yes I use one as a buffer with no gain with excellent results between the pre and amp..
The itube can be greatly improved with a 9v linear power supply and a cryo freeze.
Stupid good for the price!

Well being home sick I had some time on my hands.  I have a Bottlehead Crack headphone amp.  Why not run that into my integrated "iPod " input.  Made up a 1/4 to mini cable.  Too say the least I am very, pleased with this little experiment.  The tubes just take that slight, digital edge off.  I'm sure this isn't the perfect set up, but seemed to work.

I also use the iTube at home with tremendous results.  The iTube adds incredible warmth to the music and the 3D feature is a must for me.

How much difference does the Astron make?

All the difference!
It's quieter and the sound stage widens quite a bit. Think of it this way, a garden hose and a fire hose with the same water pressure.

Which one will the water flow best through?  The Fire Hose! = 9v Astron

Another nice iFi product, like the others seem to serve desktop and lower end systems (and do it very well).
