This preamp may well be the sweet spot in the VAC line-up. The Renaissance has a stunning line stage and phono stage to match. Less than a year ago, I had it sent down to Kevin and Brent for a complete check-up and had them upgrade the phono stage, which is now switchable between 8416 and 6922 tubes.
I am selling only due to a massive system downsizing and reconfiguration. I have had a number of amazing preamps over the years, including the Doshi Alaap, the First Sound Presence, the TRL Dude, and the Audio Horizons, and this is the best of the bunch, at least to my ears.
Of course, it is an excellent match with the VAC Renaissance 70/70 Mk III, which I am also selling. I can make someone a great package deal on the two units, if interested.
