In the course of browsing the web about audio stuff, I found someone selling upgraded fuses. And of course, there's at least one professional review stating there was a "not subtle" improvement. I'm just curious if anyone's tried that with Bryston equipment, and if James (or anyone at Bryston) can comment on any fuse-related experience they had. My default thought was that the amps, preamps, etc. were designed with the fuses they use, so why change them?

Often these very expensive boutique fuses come with no documentation or safety organization testing (UL).  Do you thank that any equipment manufacture would honor their warranty if this fuse failed to clear and burnt up the product?

Fuses are commonly used in three different locations in an amplifier:
AC input power supply
DC output power supply
Audio output

Note that these professional reviewers never say just which location they tested the fuse.
Only in the audio output location is there any possible difference. Bob Cordell measured this distortion and it was 0.0033% THD @ 20Hz with less at higher frequencies.

That's kind of what I figured. After all, the equipment is rated and tested with the default fuses.

Bryston does not use any fuses in the audio signal path.
