Good evening, glad to be apart of this forum.

I just ordered a pair of the Super 3s. Louis is a real nice guy and I am pretty thrilled to hear the Super 3s and see the Arctic Blue color. I was just wondering how much space Super 3 owners were allowing in between their speakers and what sort of distance from the back wall was optimal....thanks

I am using the Super 3Rs as my computer speakers so my head forms the perfect triangle with the two speakers, which are up tight against the wall.  I am driving them with the Decware Zen and supporting the bottom  with the CostCo $98.00 12" KLH subwoofer.  My desk rocks!!!

I have the same setup (without the sub), tho that's not by design.  I have a bunch of stuff - Decware Zen, Super 3's, Fi-X, Behringer 8024, 2 computers - on a folding/layout table in my theater listening room.  The setup is aobut a 4 ft equilateral triangle.  When I finally get setup for real listening (in other words, make or buy stands and rearrrange furniture) I plan to have them about 3 feet off the back wall, and I'll start at about 8 feet away and 6 feet apart.

I have no idea where they'll sound best - which is of course what you are asking, and getting little help with

Speaker positioning is room (size, shape, furnishing) sensitive and subject to listener taste (as the buyer of a 4.5 inch diameter single driver standmount speaker you're hopefully not into bass boom).  

Standard advice in a rectangular room where you're setting up across the narrow wall is to place the speakers 0.447 times the width of the narrow wall out from that wall and 0.276 times the width of the narrow wall out from each side wall.  The listener and speakers would then form an equilateral triangle.  This is classic nearfield listening that should offer plenty of room for development of a good soundscape (3D image).  With different distances to front and side walls the nearfield reflections from the speakers correspond to different wave lengths to avoid them reinforcing each other.

But it's all up to you and whatever you like.  One of the big advantages with a speaker like the Super 3 is that they aren't capable of generating lots of trouble making bass, so placement near corners shouldn't have a huge affect on the bass.  This leaves you to add a sub (as per your taste)that you can further adjust for the best effect.

Thanks for posting.

The Super 3s are easy to very easy to place. I place mine about 4 feet from the back wall and about 7 feet apart with little toe in. Works really good for me.
