DIY speakers for sale.
« on: 29 Nov 2014, 09:06 pm »
I no longer have a large listening space  all I have in the new house is a 8x10 office space which is the reason for the sale.

I have a pair of sachkios (back loaded horn)built by me from online plans with planet 10 enabled fe206. They are built solid but are very much DIY,  you can see the pic's, pick up only $350 firm. They sound fantastic if you have a large space!

I also have a pair of DIY monitors made from plans online with the Alpair 7 gen3 drivers. The cabninets were made by a professional cabninet builder as well as the stands. They are 8w x 23h 14d, these are sweet! The back can be screwed off to tweak as needed. PM me for more info on them  $400 local pick up perfered.

I also have some "cheap thrills" from DIY sound group with upgraded crossover, large well built cabninets they are white but will need some TLC to make them look great. Great sound I have no place for them. $350 pick up only.

Will drive to meet, 90 min outside of Dallas.

Damn, I was hoping you were going to say Illinois or somewhere drive-able.  Those cheap thrill monitors look cool.

The Alpair 7.3s are wired in series. I believe they fall above the 8 ohm mark but not completely sure. They are easy to drive, I have a 25 watt ampino with them right now and they get plenty loud with not much volume. I think they have a 5.4 ohm rating, in parallel they would be tough load to push. They could also be configured as a 1.5 with a cap across one of the terminals to separate duties but have not tried that.

I was just in Tyler last Sunday but didn't get any Cheap Thrills

Seriously, can you send me some pics and info on these?  Are they 12 or 15's?

The speakers were sanded down to about 400 grit, the speakers are dirty. There is a small mark on the front right which can be sand down and painted over easily. They will play very loud on just a few watts.
These were taken to my gym when I moved and then removed after they got so dirty!

Any other questions feel free to ask.
