While you were working

Kent, Jim and I hit Chesterfield for Half Price Books and Vintage Stock.  The HPB store has a nice and quirky selection of used cds and a surprising, if small amount of vinyl.  New pressing and some off-beat used vinyl.  I got Lou Rawls Live and an unopened copy of University of Illinois Clarinet Choir  :o

I was in a classical mood for cds and picked up the following
Mozart Violin Concertos--Fabio Bondi
Misa Criolla--Argentina Polydor/Philips recording
Christmas Splendor in Brass by the SA Staff band of Chicago
Saint-Saens piano concertos--Entremont
A Choral Reflection on the Lord's Prayer--The King's Singers.

Prices were very good and there are a lot of CD priced at a buck each.  Thanks to Kent and Jim for the trip and audio discussion and to Jim for the great lunch at California Pizza Kitchen.

Nice! Sounds like a great time.  :thumb:
When you say "Jim", are you talking about Jim from OsageAudio?

Yes Jim from Osage Audio and he still says something nice about you every time your name comes up. Apparently you have pictures or evidence.   :thumb:

I know, I know.  But I'm not about to open it up and ruin its value.

In all seriousness, U of I is a great music program and the playing is guaranteed to be very high caliber. I'm actually giving it to a good friend of mine that teaches clarinet at Central Methodist.

Hey Mr. Mark! Speaking of rare band records, I'm looking for my 2 earliest vinyl appearances... one is "1974 DCI Championships" (Ithaca, NY, Cornell University, Belleville Black Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, 4 corps per LP), and the other is "1975 Belleville West Marching Band Spring Concert" (I play the horn solo in Tchaikovsky's "Russian Christmas Music"). I'm not holding my breath, but you never know.

I had the Black Knights LP, but when all 200 of my LP's bit it after my shelf collapsed, it was the only casualty... I cried real tears after that (as you can imagine).

Hope you and yours are doing well.  :thumb:

Strange as this may seem, I have a sealed copy of the 1976 DCi volume 5 featuring Garfield, royal Crusaders, Argonne Rebels and the Kingsmen.  Not sure how I came to own this.
