I thought I would post a note on my latest upgrade - Shunyata Hydra 6 power conditioner with a Cullen Gold Series PC.  At RMAF last year I noticed Klaus had his system running through a Shunyata Hydra 8...the sound was truly exceptional, really drew the listener in.  I have used a Belkin Pure Power AV conditioner for years for my digital and ran the Candela through it also.  The sound of Kismet Hybrid Amps was degraded by plugging them into the Belkin so I plugged them directly into the wall using a porter port.  I live in a mountain town in Colorado and we get power "blips" from time to time so I have wanted to use a conditioner I could plug the Kismet Hybrids into that would not degrade the sound.   A few weeks ago I purchased the Shunyata and received the power cable a couple of days ago.  All I can say is wow, for me the Shunyata is a system changer.  I have all of the digital, Candela and Kismet hybrid monos plugged into the Shunyata.  Every aspect of the sound is improved.  The bass depth and control is fantastic...(VS VR 4 speakers), the highs are sweet and soaring and there is more detail than ever before.  For those of you that have Stratos, Kismet or any variance of Klaus's amplifiers I believe its worthwhile to use a good power conditioner.  The Hydra 6 can be had for just over $600 on the used market.  The conditioner really allows the true sound of the Kismet Hybrids to come through.....very nice indeed.  Thanks Klaus for years of great listening through this system.

I use a Shunyata Hydra 2 for my Stratos stereo extreme amp and my Audible Illusions Modulus 3B preamp.  I use a Shunyata Copperhead 20 amp cord to connect the Hydra to the wall outlet (a Shunyata in wall outlet) and the amp and preamp use Shunyata Copperhead 15 amp cords.  My other source components are powered by A Shunyata Hydra 6 with again a 20 amp Copperhead cord and all source components use Shunyata Diamondback Platinum 15 amp cords.  The dynamics are explosive and the noise floor is zero.  I bought all the Shunyata Hydras and cords second hand over a few years and its a lot of bang for the buck.  The Speakers are Von Schweikert VR-33's.

I agree stereo5...a lot of bang for the buck...the Cullen Power Cable seems to work well also.  With the Shunyata I am hearing the quality of the Odyssey amps to a greater degree than before.  Seems like a no brainer.

Martin, I have a similar set up….Kismet monoblocks, Candela, and I have a Shunyata Triton as my power conditioner.  The best way I can describe what the Triton does is take the rough edges off and make the overall audio presentation much smoother and clean. Another noticeable change was running dedicated power lines to the Triton.  After they were installed I switched back to the preexisting power line and it was like “night and day”.  The sound from preexisting line (about 15 yrs old) was dull and smeared; the sound on the new line was crisp and clean.  I didn't request any special wire when they ran the line so I’m not sure if it’s the metal in the new line or just being new (no corrosion in the line); but I can sure hear the difference!

A dedicated power line is something to consider....thanks Kelvin
