Bent Audio AVC-1 Parts Kit
« on: 15 Mar 2014, 03:26 pm »
Here is a link to the basic parts kit I am selling.  My display has the aluminum surround and is a little more than the one listed on this page.  The MSRP for the parts I am selling is $1245.

http://www.bentaudio.com/products/tap-examples.html

I am asking $900 obo.  Less than 10 hours of run time, basically brand new.

The purest volume control on earth. Custom wound Slagleformer autoformers using six 9's copper and custom designed controls featuring Pickering UK audio relays.

The remote itself is worth the price, at 8.5 ounces it is an elegant chunk of metal. Feels great to hold, a joy to use.

This set has less than 10 hours of use, practically new. They are the volume control used is some of the most expensive preamps you can buy. Buy with confidence, you won't be disappointed.

Here is what BentAudio.com has to say about this module:

"...This is our premium attenuator option. At the heart of the module is the amazing top of the range autoformer made by Dave Slagle of 100% passive and sonically transparent - the entire signal path includes only pure magnet wire and high quality switching elements made by Pickering in England. Full remote control of volume up and down and also right/left balance and mute function.

This is the same unit that was used in our TAP-X pre-amp when it was available and it has all the same features and specs. Notable is the small 1db step size - unheard of for an autoformer or transformer volume control. Also new to this type of device is the ultra clean signal path - no more TVC rats nest of wiring and an easy 3 wire audio connection. Volume range is -54db on up to +7db. Two modules are required for stereo operation or 4 modules for true balanced operation."

These are OEM quality parts. A sample of who uses BentAudio.com parts in their equipment:
Atma-Sphere, K&K, ModWright, Audio Note, Redwine, just to name a few.

Can you list the full set of parts you're selling? I don't see the enclosure in your pics. Is that included? And you only show a single volume controller, but the kits on their website look like they have two. Again, the pics are nice, but a full list of parts would great.

HI genjamon,

http://www.bentaudio.com/products/tap-examples.html

Thanks for pointing that out, I corrected the link to the proper page.
The only difference is on that page he shows a power supply that is board mounted, with my kit
he supplied a large wall wart power supply.  It doesn't affect sound quality, as it just runs the remote/relays/display functions.

So in the pictures, what you see, is what is for sale.  I didn't purchase, nor do I have a case from Bent.  He sells them this way for DIY and OEM.

So I am selling the parts kit, not including an enclosure.  If you purchase this exact set of parts from Bent, it goes for $1245.

It is simple to mount the 3 parts in an enclosure and wire them, maybe an hours work, if that.

Thanks for your location information.  I did see, a short while after I had emailed you, that you had this ad also on Audiogon, with your location shown.  If this has not yet sold, I am offering $900.00 inclusive of PayPal fee and FedEx or UPS Ground shipping to ZIP 18661.  Thanks.
