I noticed this slick new picture of a Sundog White on Vapor's website.  I like the name-embossed metal baffle... nice looking speaker.

Yes, those are mine.  The veneer is Ebony and Ryan added the tweeter frame, said they had been working on them for a while and this was the first pair to have them.

I've had them since July and they sound great.  I do run them with a sub though.  The cross over was a design alternative to be used for full time subwoofer use.  So the speaker has a better mid-range and about a 1db more sensitivity.

We are aiming at having custom plates for each speaker in the lineup.  Those anodized aluminum face plates really do look nice and obviously tie in the design elements nicely.

The RAAL tweeter is impeccably designed.  It offer incredibly linear response in great measure because of the design of the opening.  It is essentially a waveguide with the ribbon element quite a few mm behind the plane of the plate.  That design allows for using the tweeter either in a flush mount or surface mount application with no real effect on diffraction performance.  The cabinet/baffle dominate and not the face plate edge.  The non-straight lines of the flange spread out any diffraction effects which keeps any diffraction ripple that might be present to a minimum.  Other than a baffle related diffraction dip (in the stop band of the tweeter), the response of the RAAL looks identical to its response in the Cirrus.
