I broke out my Radio Shack SPL meter the other day to recalibrate the speakers (after changing my subwoofer). I used the built-in pink noise test and got everything pretty well set up (does pink noise work accurately for subs??). I then used my AIX audio calibration disc and found the settings were a bit off. Nothing dramatic... a decibel or two here or there, but not close enough, especially the sub (which was off by 7-10 db).
So, two questions I guess:
1 - which is most accurate, the built in pink noise, or a calibration disc?
2 - I know the Radio Shack SPL meter isn't great (I have the digital model). Can anyone recommend anything that's more accurate?
Thanks!
