Hi all,

I know there was some interest here a while back in the Coincident Dynamo 34SE amp, so I thought I'd write to confirm that this is indeed a great match with Omegas.  I'm coming from the superb Red Wine Audio Signature 15, which was a great match in its own right, but the siren song of single ended finally got to me and I had to take the plunge into full tube territory.  This is a completely different sound signature from what I was used to.  The Dynamo is considerably faster, airier and more transparent than the Sig 15.  Tone colors are very good, but it lacks that ultra-saturated character that's a special hallmark of RWA.  The soundstage is bigger and more dimensional than the RWA, but images are a bit more ethereal.  Highs reach further, but bass is a little lighter than with the Sig 15.

All in all I'm very happy so far, and am enjoying this new sense of speed and transparency.  I'm VERY interested to roll some tubes here and see if I can add a little more tonal density and bass heft while maintaining what's outstanding about this amp.  It's always amazing to me how responsive the Super Alnico XRS are to changes upstream...

From what I've read here, the really interesting comparison for the Dynamo would be to the Decware Zen designs.  I would have loved to try Decware after reading all the raves, but I move internationally every few years, so dual voltage was the trump card in Coincident's favor.  The aesthetics are also more my cup of tea.  Anyway, I thought you all might be interested in a little report, and I'll get back to you when I'm able to roll some glass.

Thanks for that lousyreeds1,

Nice to see another amp that works well with Omegas.  If you can roll to 6L6, 6N3-CE, or 6550 you may see the image focus improve.  My experience with the EL34 (Electro Harmonix skinny bottle) was warmth, and deep ethereal soundstage but not the detail and transparency of the 6N3-CE (a 6L6 derivative), and 6550.  My favorite octal based tube thus far is the 6N3-CE - it has the perfect balance of detail and warmth.  The 6550 was even more detailed but a little cooler sounding.  That was all in the custom built SET amp pictured below.

Thanks a lot for sharing! This is especially interesting to me since I have Alnico XRSs arriving soon and have a RWA Signature 16 to pair with them. I've always wondered how a high quality SET would compare...and what I'd be gaining/losing with the RWA. Definitely share further impressions when the rollin' begins.

Been using a Dynamo for a year or so with a mapletree audio line 2b se. Great combo! I found that the psvane el34 Phillips reissue's sounded pretty much perfect with an old rca 5u4g. Tried all sorts of driver's and settled on some old sylvania mil spec 6sl7's. Detailed, fast and warm with little fatigue. I use Decware monitors at the moment but will look into some Omegas this year after I get my new turntable, but that's another story!
