Just curious if anyone tried one of these Tripath-based receivers:

It is the unit that goes with this $99 Teac tripath amp:

My guess is that it uses the same amplification modules as the $99 Teac, but I wonder how it sounds with the built in DVD/CD player.  I also wonder what they are using as a volume control (digital or analog?).

Looks pretty nice, but not as cheap costing  :roll:

I have not tried this, though I have two of the 3 channel A-L700P...

I went with two of the straight amps, and a B&K pre/pro.

The Teac seems to cost a little too much for what it is, given the cost of competitive gear.

The Tripaths amps though, are great.
